What data we process
Browsing data
Every website is delivered by a hosting provider, whose servers automatically record some technical data each time a page or file is requested: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the address of the requested page or file, the response status and technical details about your browser and device. We use this data only to keep the website secure and working properly.
Data you send us
This website has no forms, no user accounts and no newsletter. If you write to us by email or call us, we process the data you choose to give us, such as your name, contact details, organisation and the content of your request, to answer you.
What we do not use
The website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and it does not load content from third parties. More details are in our Cookie Policy.
Why we process your data and on what legal basis
- To deliver the website and keep it secure (browsing data). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure and reliable website, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- To answer your questions and requests, for example about boat storage, bodywork, engine repair, transport, brokerage, restoration or our services for public bodies. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as accounting and tax rules or requests from public authorities. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Legal basis: our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Giving us your data is voluntary. If you do not give us the data we need to reply, we may not be able to answer your request. We do not make automated decisions about you, we do not profile you and we do not sell your data.
Who receives your data
Your data can be accessed by authorised staff of Nautica Modena and by providers that work on our behalf, appointed as data processors where the law requires it:
- the hosting provider of the website (Vercel Inc.);
- the provider of our business email;
- the company that builds and maintains the website (Mimetic Media), which may access technical data only as far as needed for maintenance;
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed.
We may also disclose data to public authorities when the law requires it. We do not disclose your data to anyone else.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Our hosting provider is based in the United States. When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area we rely on the safeguards provided by Chapter V of the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for details at info@nauticamodena.com.
How long we keep your data
Browsing data is kept by the hosting provider only for the time strictly necessary for the purposes above, according to its log retention settings. Emails, and the data they contain, are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and, if a contract follows, for the periods required by accounting, tax and civil law. After that they are deleted or anonymised.
